Le Vie del Vino
Abruzzo
WINE EDUCATION & TASTINGThursday, August 3, 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Join us for an in-depth class on the wines of Abruzzo on August 3. We will learn about and taste 6 wines, focusing on the region's most classic wines, such as Montepulciano d'Abruzzo and Trebbiano d'Abruzzo. We will also taste an example of Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo, Italy's finest rosato, as well as Pecorino, a dry white that has become quite popular over the past few years. The tasting will be accompanied by appetizers.
The class will be led by Tom Hyland, a Chicago native who specializes in Italian Wines. He has made more than 80 trips to regions throughout Italy and has met hundreds of producers. He has been teaching consumers and the trade about Italian wines for the past twelve years and has been writing about the country's wines for more than 20 years. He currently writes on the subject for wine-searcher.com, forbes.com and Decanter (England); he has also written two books about Italian wines.
