Conosci la lingua italiana?

Certificalo  con un esame PLIDA

PLIDA exams certify proficiency in Italian as a foreign language and assess the ability to use the language at different levels of competence, from A1 to C2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

There are two PLIDA certification programs: PLIDA and PLIDA Juniores.

The PLIDA certification program, designed for adults, offers exams at the A2, B1, B2, C1, and C2 levels.

PLIDA Juniores exams are intended for students between the ages of 13 and 18. The PLIDA Juniores tests are designed using texts and language-use contexts that are appropriate for the candidates' age. The certification offers exams at the A1, A2, B1, and B2 levels.

The Italian Cultural Center of Minneapolis–St. Paul (ICC) is an official exam center for the PLIDA Certification (Progetto Lingua Italiana Dante Alighieri). We are among the few institutions in North America authorized to administer the PLIDA exam and the only certified center in Minnesota.

The PLIDA certificate is an official diploma issued by the Società Dante Alighieri (SDA), in collaboration with the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the University of Rome “La Sapienza.” It is recognized by the Italian Ministry of Labor and Social Policies and the Italian Ministry of University and Research as a formal qualification of Italian language proficiency for non-native speakers.

Why take the PLIDA exam?

  • To apply for Italian citizenship (minimum level: B1)
  • To study at Italian universities (requirements vary; typically a minimum of B2)
  • To obtain college credit as a U.S. high school or college student
  • To apply for a Permit of Stay in Italy (minimum level: A2)
  • As a capstone achievement after completing Italian language courses
