Youth Language Courses (Ages 3-17)

Our youth classes cater to school-age students between 3 and 17 years old, and are grouped by both age and skill level to meet the diverse needs of our students and to ensure appropriate instruction. Small class size allows for more personalized attention and effective learning. (No placement test is required.)

Regular small group classes (5-10 students) are held weekly on Saturday mornings, and Accelerated classes on Saturday or Sunday afternoons for those looking for a faster-paced, more enrichment.

All students must hold active ICC FAMILY memberships. To become a member, visit our membership page HERE.

For additional options such as online classes, homeschool classes, private or semi-private lessons, and customized small group lessons, please contact the Youth School Director at sabrina@theitalianculturalcenter.org

2026 - 2027 CALENDAR

OPEN HOUSE: Saturday, September 5

FALL SEMESTER: September 12 - December 12

WINTER/SPRING TERM: TBD

NO classes: MEA (Oct. 17) and Thanksgiving (Nov. 28)

Regular Term Courses

Beginner/Intermediate Courses:

Saturdays from 10:00–11:00am

The Beginner/Intermediate track is designed for students with little to no exposure to Italian outside of class. The 60-minute weekly lessons are conducted by university-educated instructors with native fluency in Italian and emphasize the gradual and progressive acquisition of basic speaking, listening comprehension, reading, writing, and grammar skills as students advance through the program. Younger students will enjoy an allergy-friendly snack as part of this immersive experience.

Bilingual/Advanced Courses:

Saturdays 11:15 am-12:15 pm

The Advanced/Bilingual track is designed for students with previous exposure to Italian; we recommend at least one parent speak Italian in the home or have regular opportunities to interact with Italian-speaking family members. The 60-minute full-immersion weekly lessons are conducted by university-educated instructors with native fluency in Italian and target improving confidence in speaking and comprehension, as well as increasing vocabulary and grammatical understanding.

Accelerated Options:

The Accelerated Track is designed for students in Grade 5 and above, at any proficiency level, who are motivated to learn at a faster pace. Students should be able to stay engaged during longer lessons (with appropriate breaks) and complete homework independently outside of class.

Instruction emphasizes speaking, listening, and real-world communication in Italian, while at-home assignments reinforce reading and writing skills. Weekly immersion sessions are taught by university-educated instructors with native-level fluency in Italian.
