Beginner/Intermediate Courses: Saturdays from 10–11 a.m.
The Beginner/Intermediate track is designed for students with little to no exposure to Italian outside of class. The 60-minute weekly lessons are conducted by university-educated instructors with native fluency in Italian and emphasize the gradual and progressive acquisition of basic speaking, listening comprehension, reading, writing, and grammar skills as students advance through the program.
Bilingual/Advanced Courses: Saturdays 11:15 a.m.-12:15 p.m.
The Advanced/Bilingual track is designed for students with previous exposure to Italian; we recommend at least one parent speak Italian in the home or have regular opportunities to interact with Italian-speaking family members, such as during the summers. The 60-minute full-immersion weekly lessons are conducted by university-educated instructors with native fluency in Italian and target improving confidence in speaking and comprehension, as well as increasing vocabulary and grammatical understanding.
Accelerated Courses (18 hours): Saturdays 2:00-3:30pm.
The Accelerated Track is a 90-min. class designed for students (Grade 4 and up) of any proficiency level who are able to move at a faster pace, stay focused for longer periods of time (with appropriate breaks), and have the opportunity to complete homework outside of class time. Focus is on output: speaking and writing, with increased attention to understanding and accurate use of grammatical structures. The full-immersion weekly lessons are conducted by university-educated instructors with native-level fluency in Italian.
