Join us for an in-depth class on the wines of Tuscany on August 2. We will learn about and taste 6 wines which will include several of the most famous reds, such as Chianti Classico, Brunello di Montalcino and Bolgheri, a coastal territory that has become celebrated over the last two decades for its red wines made from Bordeaux varieties. We will end the class with Italy's most famous dessert wines, Vin Santo. The tasting will be accompanied by appetizers.
The class will be led by Tom Hyland, a Chicago native who specializes in Italian Wines. He has made more than 80 trips to regions throughout Italy and has met hundreds of producers. He has been teaching consumers and the trade about Italian wines for the past twelve years and has been writing about the country's wines for more than 20 years. He currently writes on the subject for wine-searcher.com, forbes.com and Decanter (England); he has also written two books about Italian wines.
