will comment on selected passages from the cinéma-vérité documentary Comizi d'amore (Love Meetings) that Pasolini made in 1965 interviewing passers-by about their attitudes toward sex, and controversial topics such as prostitution, homosexuality, the legalisation of divorce, sexual equality.

Prof. Francesca Cadel (PhD, The Graduate Center; Doctorat, Sorbonne, Paris-IV) teaches Italian and Film Studies at the University of Calgary, in Canada. She published La lingua dei desideri. Il dialetto secondo Pier Paolo Pasolini, Lecce: Manni, 2002; co-edited Poeti con nome di donna, Milano: Rizzoli, 2008; published many articles, translations, and interviews. She co-edited Pinocchio. Storia di un burattino, New York, Farinelli, 2013. She translated from the Italian Franco Berardi, The Soul at Work. From Alienation to Autonomy (with Giuseppina Mecchia), Los Angeles, MIT Press, 2009 and into Italian Clem Martini’s The Comedian, Il commediante, Milano: Mimesis, 2021. Her current project is entitled Cultural Landscapes of Post-Fascist Societies: 1945-1993. Italian literature and culture in the years of the Cold War and the Washington Treaty – book manuscript.
