DANTE 700 is a series of online events, presented by The Italian Cultural Center of Minneapolis / St. Paul, celebrating Dante Alighieri (1265-1321) on the 700th anniversary of his death.

Susan Noakes has been a Professor at the University of Minnesota for almost 30 years, teaching both Italian and French medieval literature, and other subjects as needed. Since 1968, she has regularly published articles and book chapters on Dante and other major figures of the Trecento, with an emphasis on the relation between literature and political and economic history. She currently serves as Chair of the Department of French and Italian at the "U" and co-editor for Cambridge University Press of a series of 40 short studies ("Elements") on the Global Middle Ages.
