Bollicine d'Oro - Golden Italian Bubbles vs. Champagne
Taste and linger through North-East Italy’s regions of Lombardy, Veneto, and Friuli Venezia Giulia.
Learn how the Italian golden bubbles differ and compete with Champagne. Understand the history, geography and evolution of their production methods and then taste and compare the highest quality Prosecco, Franciacorta, and two kinds of Champagne.
The name Prosecco is taken from the name of an Italian village near Trieste (Friuli Venezia Giulia), where the grape and the wine may have originated. In 2019, Le Colline del Prosecco di Conegliano e Valdobbiadene became an Unesco World Heritage Site (Veneto).
Franciacorta with DOCG status is produced with grapes grown on the hills located between the southern shore of Lake Iseo and the city of Brescia (Lombardy).
The wine tasting will be expertly lead by David Johnson, Certified Sommelier through the Court of Master Sommeliers. He is passionate about Italy, its wines, and its beautiful language.
The tasting will be held on Thursday, November 21st, 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM, at Roam Interiors' furniture, lighting and design showroom in Minneapolis. You will have the opportunity to view several lines of modern Italian furniture, housewares, and kitchen utensils.
Assorted pasticcini - exquisite fine pastry treats will be served.
