Tortelloni di Funghi - are a mushroom stuffed pasta, common in Northern Italy, with a similar shape as tortellini, but larger and with the extremities closed differently. They are traditionally stuffed with ricotta cheese but they are found stuffed with porcini mushrooms during the fall season. Originally from the Italian region of Emilia Romagna (in particular Bologna and Modena), they are usually served in cream sauce.
On Sunday, October 13 2:00 – 4:00 PM, ICC instructor and native Italian, Romina Montanari, will lead this hands-on pasta making session at Mid-City Kitchen, a beautiful space in St. Paul.
During this class you will also learn how to make Salatini (savory bite-size appetizers) perfect for your upcoming Aperitivo-Cocktail or Halloween Party with friends.
Romina will demonstrate the process, and then it will be your turn to create some tortelloni and salatini of your own! Each participant will enjoy a glass of wine and some tortelloni to taste and will bring the tortelloni and salatini they just made home.
Cost for the event is $60 for members, and $70 for non-members. All ingredients are included, but please bring flat a tray with two flour sack kitchen towels to carry your tortelloni home.
