ITALIAN FILM FESTIVAL of Minneapolis / St. Paul
A 10-year retrospective
After a successful sponsorship of the Italian movies at the recent International Film Festival of Minneapolis St. Paul, we are happy to continue our partnership with the Film Society of Minneapolis St. Paul, and bring the best of Italian cinema to the Twin Cities. In 2019, we are celebrating the best movies of the past 10 years of the Italian Film Festival of Minneapolis / St. Paul (IFF). The 10 movies selected by our committee will be screened throughout the year leading up to the IFF's 11th edition on Feb 20-23, 2020.
This special edition started this March with the screening of Smetto Quando Voglio, a great comedy originally shown at our 7th edition of the IFF in 2015.
Our NEXT SCREENING is on WEDNESDAY, MAY 8TH, 7:00 PM, with BASILICATA COAST TO COAST, another not to be missed comedy!
The film will be presented in Italian only. The file we received does not include English subtitles. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Basilicata Coast to Coast
Comedy, 2009, 105 mins
Director: Rocco Papaleo
Conceived as part publicity stunt, part bonding trip, a group of musicians and a reluctant journalist set off on a ten-day trek by foot to cross the region of Basilicata (coast to coast) to reach the Scanzano Jonico Festival where they are scheduled to perform. Along the way, the members stumble upon an array of unforeseen circumstances and oddball locals that lead them to examine their own personal paths in life and perhaps reconsider what still lies ahead. With Basilicata's imposing beauty as a backdrop, this musical road-trip comedy reminds us that it is not about the destination but the journey.
Cast: Alessandro Gassmann, Paolo Briguglia, Max Gazzè, Giovanna Mezzogiorno, Rocco Papaleo, Claudia Potenza, Michela Andreozzi, Antonio Gerardi, Augusto Fornari, Gaetano Amato
