Location
Minneapolis College of Art and Design, Auditorium 150, 2501 Stevens Avenue South, Minneapolis, MN, 55404, (612) 874-3700
Romanzo criminale
is based on the true story of a master criminal who has his sights set on conquering Rome's underworld in this exciting gangland saga, spanning more than 25 years of criminal activity in Italy. The movie follows Libano from hoodlum to kingpin, tracking his rise to power, and the struggles that arise within his gang of ruthless cohorts. However, this isn't just another variation of the classic gangster film formula, as it becomes evident that the gang's activities are intrinsically linked to the darker episodes of Italy's history, with police and governmental corruption, kidnapping plots and even romance broadening the canvas of this epic film.
A vivid, ferocious movie, deeply rooted in one of modern Italy's most controversial and violent periods,
Romanzo criminale
deals with universal issues and moral dilemmas in a roller-coaster ride of passion, action and emotion
(2005, Michele Placido
,
