The excursion soon becomes an exciting adventure: not only for the exploration of the woods, river and the abandoned cottages, but, above all, because of the growing curiosity Giacomo and Stefania have toward each other. The skin begins to burn, not just because of the sun’s heat. Summer is a season of life. The camera follows the deaf Giacomo and a childhood girlfriend Stefi closely -- in the woods, by the river -- without disrupting the mystery of their relationship which is a combination of restrained sensuality and childhood games. Many critics regard this lyrical and modest docu-fiction as the best Italian debut in years.
