The course is designed for those who wish to gain greater cultural competency when traveling to Italy for a few weeks or a few months.
This is a 3-week, 6-hour course (2 hrs. each session) and it is offered in a small group setting (4-5 people). The course is taught in English. The instructors are Marco Pavoloni, Italian Honorary Consul in Minnesota and experienced translator and cultural coach, and Marco A. Pavoloni, Managing Partner and Director of Operations at Pavoloni International Translation & Interpreting Services. The course will cover a variety of topics including transportation, entertainment, medical assistance, banking, shopping, meals, dress code, etc. Participants will explore the norms of accepted behavior and communication styles; they will develop and apply appropriate customs and skills in an Italian cultural context. Additionally, they will gain a general understanding of Italian history, geography, economics, and politics in order to engage more effectively during their upcoming trips. The course is offered on Mondays, September 27, October 4 and 11 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM and includes a 10-minute break. Cost: $130/members; $150/non-members NOTE: This is not a language course and it is open to anyone.
