CineForum 2010: La bestia nel cuore

La bestia nel cuorefeatures several of Italy's top young actors in this Italian drama about the lingering, paralyzing effects of repressed memory. Sabina is troubled by anxieties she can't explain and tormented by enigmatic nightmares about her childhood. She can't speak of her fears to her adoring boyfriend or to her smitten childhood friend Emilia, so she reaches out to her brother, a university professor in the U.S. whose remoteness is well suited to his chosen home of Charlottesville, Virginia. The monthly Cineforum runs annually from January through June and is organized by the Italian Cultural Center in conjunction with the Istituto Italiano di Cultura in Chicago and the Minneapolis College of Art and Design. This year's screenings will be held on January 29, February 26, April 30, May 28 and June 25, 2010. The 2nd annual Film Festival of contemporary Italian film will take the place of the March CineForum screening. All movies are in Italian with English sub-titles.
