My experience volunteering with the Italian Cultural Center has been wonderful.
What started as a simple email asking for more information about the ICC has 
turned into an experience I will never forget. I feel involved and important in the 
areas that I have volunteered within the ICC. The enthusiasm and engagement 
of the other volunteers has been both stimulating and rewarding. I am proud to 
be a part of Italian culture in Minnesota.

My name is Maurizio and I am a graduate student from Milan, Italy. While I was
an exchange student at the University of Minnesota, I came upon the website 
for the Italian Cultural Center. It was then I decided to volunteer with the 
language classes for children. It was such a great experience because I had the 
opportunity to meet so many interesting people and everyone welcomed me very 
well. At the moment I am back in the U.S. doing an internship for my master’s 
degree through the Italian Cultural Center. There are so many opportunities for 
volunteers with us. Volunteers can help with not only language classes, but also 
cultural events, film festivals, food and wine tastings, and many other activities 
and projects. Volunteers are always welcome and greatly appreciated. The nice 
thing about volunteering at the ICC is that, for a student (like me), it is a great 
way to gain experience; you can come and share your ideas, give suggestions, 
help and offer a little of your spare time, and you really feel like an important 
asset for the ICC. It’s like a family, and I am proud to be part of it.
