I am a graduate student from Milan, Italy. While I was an exchange student at the University of Minnesota, I came upon the Italian Cultural Center website. It was then I decided to volunteer with the children's language classes. It was such a great experience because I had the opportunity to meet so many interesting people and everyone welcomed me very well. At the moment I am back in the U.S. doing an internship for my master’s degree through the ICC. There are so many opportunities for volunteers: they can help with not only language classes, but also cultural events, film festivals, food and wine tastings, and many other activities and projects. Volunteers are always welcome and greatly appreciated. The nice thing about volunteering at the ICC is that, for a student (like me), it is a great way to gain experience; you can share your ideas, give suggestions, offer a little of your spare time and you really feel like an important asset for the ICC. It’s like a family, and I am proud to be part of it.
