Tracing Events of Recent Italian History
at the Walker Art Center

Join us at the Walker Art Center for another “Made for ICC” tour!

This tour will focus on works currently on view at the Walker that reference events of Italian history, first and foremost early 20th century Italian anarchists and the terrorist left-wing movement Brigate Rosse. Through the discussion of works by German photographer Wolfgang Tillmans and Italian sculptor Lara Favaretto, the tour will also include considerations about the current Italian political landscape thus linking the past with the present.

The following works will be included in the tour:

  • Sarah Charlesworth "April 21, 1978 from Modern History" (1978) from I am you, you are too exhibition
  • Wolfgang Tillmans “Anti-Brexit Posters” (2016) from I am you, you are too exhibition
  • Lara Favaretto: “L’écume des mers” (2013) from I am you, you are too exhibition
  • Siah Armajani: “Model for Gazebo for One Anarchist: Luigi Galleani” (1991) from Follow This Line exhibition
  • Siah Armajani: “Sacco and Vanzetti Reading Room #3” (1988) from Follow This Line exhibition

The tour is in English and will be led by Lorella Angelini.

The tour will take place on Thursday, November 29, from 6:30 - 7:45 p.m.  Participants will meet at the Walker Art Center main lobby on Vineland.
