Book Club is back! Are you interested in improving your reading, pronunciation, and listening skills in Italian? The Italian Cultural Center of Minneapolis/St. Paul would like to encourage you to become part of our informal Book Club.
Our Book Club will welcome ICC members and non-members who have completed at least one INTERMEDIATE level course or its equivalent (see Intermediate course descriptons on the ICC website). Our first meeting will take place on Wednesday, June 9, from 6 until 7:30 p.m. Book Club will meet for 10 weeks in Suite 211 of the Hennepin Center for the Arts building, and it will be facilitated by a native Italian instructor. We will read and discuss Italian literature in a relaxed atmosphere. Book Club will be free of charge to ICC members, and there will be a non-member fee of $30. We will begin reading an adapted version of Alessandro Manzoni's I Promessi Sposi. We will take turns reading aloud, and will make certain everyone has a grasp of the meaning. Our discussion will be in Italian as much as possible. The book can be purchased through Applause Learning. The item number is CID6609, or ISBN number 978-88-530-0660-8. A CD is included with the text, and cost is $16.95.
